Can I just say

that I have been dying to read Son of Neptune for the longest time but I’ve been a good girl and I’ve let it sit in my computer utterly ignored until I’ve submitted all my requirements. And now that I have done all that responsible stuff, it’s time I reward myself with a book that is significantly less high brow than the crap load of classics I had to go through this sem. Yaaaay!

I’m awkwardly blogging about this (eew, Lara, YA? Really???) because a long time ago I half-promised to do write about YA books and it’s high time I actually take that up, especially now when I don’t have Ma’am Mayel breathing down my neck and disapprovingly tsk-ing if I haven’t read the entire Inferno.

Also, my enabler of a best friend still has finals until the 20th and I have to let my angst/euphoria/FEELINGS out somewhere.

So really, this over-long post is really just a warning that I will be writing about Son of Neptune in maybe three days’ time. I don’t know, I always feel like I have to write long disclaimers whenever I associate myself with YA anything, which is unfair because shit takes up probably 40% of my hard drive.

(PS: I still haven’t finished 100 Years of Solitude which I abandoned when the sem started picking up, but I shall return to it after Son of Neptune. My brain needs a rest after this sem. 1:1 is my ratio with these things, if you get what I mean.*)

* If you don’t, I mean 1 srs novelz to 1 sort-of-mababaw book. For some reason, ending things with “if you get what I mean” make it seem like it’s supposed to be dirty. And this isn’t. Unless I missed a dirty pun I accidentally made, in which case, feel free to message it to me.
